- At the Münchehofe sewage treatment plant site, digester gas is produced from the sewage sludge produced during wastewater treatment. The digester gas is used to generate electricity and waste heat via combined heat and power plants (CHPs). In addition to the CHPs, Münchehofe is also home to... A boiler is used for thermal utilization. The CHPs and the boiler provide the heat for the sewage treatment plant. The two existing boilers (built in 1996) are mechanically outdated and must be replaced by a new boiler. One of the existing boilers has already been taken out of operation and the connections to the heating circuit have been removed. The other boiler is still in operation and will be replaced by a rental boiler during the renovation phase. The rental boiler can be connected to the connections already provided for this purpose be connected.
