- Description:
- The epifluorescence microscopes are used for the mapping of bacterial cells in liquid medium, on glass, in PDMS microfluidic devices and on agarose pads. We need an excellent resolution of bacterial morphology and occasionally the picture of subcellular features like FTSZ rings / nucleotides. Many of our experiments include long time-lapse recordings (up to 12 hours) of bacterial growth on agarose pads across multiple fields of view in the Hellfeld / Phase Contrast and Fluorescence Mode. Therefore, we need an extremely reliable automatic focusing system and a temperature control system of our samples.
