The currently Used fire and rescue guard North (FRW Nord) in Kanalstrasse, corresponds to the requirements of the fire and emergency services. Therefore, the city of Leverkusen is planning a new building at the "Auf der Heunen" location in Opladen. To the expected Completion at the end of 2030 an interim is required for waking operation - this is the subject of the advertised service.
On December 16, 2024, the City of Leverkusen's council decided to temporarily outsource the fire protection units on an urban property on Europa-Allee in Opladen. The level, undeveloped terrain (parcels 834/835) is suitable for temporary use as a fire station.
The vehicle hall is supposed to space for 4 emergency vehicles And offer a washing area. A 24-hour layer consists of 16 emergency services, for the standby, teaching, rest, sanitary and changing rooms as well as workshop areas (e.g. laundry, logistics, kitchen).
