- The existing, listed congress hall in the state capital Saarbruecken is to be expanded to include a modern and multifunctional building (project abbreviation MKK) for congresses, trade fairs, exhibitions and other event formats (MICE - Meetings Incentives Conventions Exhibitions). In addition to the primary goal of supplementing the cultural offerings of the state capital Saarbruecken and the economic revitalization of the city center, the cityscape along the Saar in the immediate vicinity of the Buergerpark and the Saar promenade should also be improved. Expansion of the Saarbruecken Congress Hall by 3,400m2, the upgrade of the forecourt and the creation of a green canyon that ensures access from the forecourt to the Hafeninselpark.
