With the publication of the BIM Bundesfernstrassen master plan by the BMVI (now BMV) in October 2021, the gradual implementation of the BIM method was defined for all federal long-distance road projects, with the aim of implementing the working method from 2026 in the control process. In this context the application of the BIM method is currently being tested on various pilot projects and their number continuously expanded. Nevertheless, the introduction of the BIM method means extensive and profound changes in the known work processes. The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction And traffic (NLSTBV), hereinafter also called AG, has set itself the goal of familiarizing all employees with the method to implement the "Building Information Modeling" (BIM) method in the NLSTBV. By creating the early creation of competencies, provision of the Working materials and determination of the way of working are optimized for BIM's introduction and can be adapted to the country -specific needs. In the area of the information strategy, an intranet page was created that informs about news, appointments, the most important terms and BIM documents. In addition, regular BIM newsletters are sent with current information. In addition, a short explanatory video and an image video were created.
