- Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) offer great potential- private and commercial. More and more people use them. Clear rules are necessary for the operation of UAS to open up new opportunities for technology and at the same time significantly increase safety in the airspace. As described in the Federal Government's action plan "unmanned aerospace systems and innovative aviation concepts", Germany wants to become a leading market in the manufacture and operation of UAS and establish high security standards, bring automated and networked flying into practice and thereby ensure the protection of personal data, privacy and the environment .
The Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV), formerly the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, is therefore legally obliged to have the influence of UAS on protected areas, especially with a view to noise protection as well as the interference and sh light on animals, with a view to to examine the protection of affected private legal entities and with a view to economic and social aspects.
