• Description:
• The Free State of Saxony, represented by the Saxon State Ministry of Finance, represented by the state-owned company Saxon Real Estate and Construction Management, intends to build a new section of the PoL research building for technical purposes University of Dresden on the Dresden Johannstadt campus. The construction phases must function independently and are financed separately from each other. At the same time, direct functional, location and proximity references must be taken into account. The realization of the Components A and B are to be built on one property in two construction phases. For component A (1st BA) funding is provided via Infra-ERDF 2021-2027. The 1st BA should also be able to be operated independently (EFRE funding). For component B (2nd BA) is running an application process according to Art. 91b GG (decision if necessary spring 2026). For the 2nd BA, a BNB certification (silver) must be provided as part of the 91b GG funding. The planned “Physics of Life” laboratory building in Dresden is considered more innovative Research location designed. It will explore the physical principles of biological processes and promote interdisciplinary exchange between physics, biology, chemistry and computer science. The aim of the Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life” is the application physical concepts and methods apply to biological systems in order to gain a better understanding of life processes. Specific research goals include the analysis of biological structures, cell dynamics and interactions between biological molecules. The building will offer flexible spaces that include both open labs and open offices. This flexibility enables adaptable use of the space to meet the changing requirements of research to do justice.
