2D seismic real laboratory geothermal energy RhinelandThe Fraunhofer Society for the promotion of applied Research e.V., for its Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructure and Geotechnologies - Fraunhofer IEG, intends to award the service described in Annex 03 list of services by means of the open procurement procedure.
The Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research e.V. is the owner of a scientific permit field for the exploration of geothermal energy ("Aachen-Weisweiler field") in the Aachen-Weisweiler area, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). As part of the "Reallaboratory Geothermal Energy Rhineland" project, the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructures is leading the project and Geotechnologies (Fraunhofer IEG) is conducting an exploration program to investigate the hydrothermal geothermal potential of the region to a depth of around 4,000 m. Up to this depth there are Paleozoic geothermal reservoirs (Lower Carboniferous Carboniferous Limestone, Devonian Condroz Sandstone and Upper/Middle Devonian mass limestone) possible exploration targets.
