A central component of radiation protection is the information of the population about radiation effects and radiation risks as well as the correct radiation protection behavior. The basis for target group -specific risk communication is the knowledge of perceptions, behaviors andInformation needs among the population in general and in various social groups. The aim of the research project is to ensure the general social anchorage of radiation and radiation protection and the relevant perceptions, knowledge and information needs of theTo raise population in Germany. For this purpose, a telephone survey representative for the population living in Germany is to be carried out in order to obtain reliable statements about dealing with radiation and radiation protection. In an upstream qualitative survey,From guideline -based interviews with people from the population, thought patterns, knowledge and perceptions are viewed more intensively and insights into dealing with radiation and radiation protection are gained. The survey is intended to provide important knowledge about the social environment in whichthe BFS moves with its scientific work and information and communication measures. The results provide impulses for the design of the BFS science and risk communication and for the design of radiation protection concepts.
