• Description:
• As part of the federal program "Adjustment of urban and rural areas to climate change", the funding project "Klimaraum Trier - Historical Allen Ring" will be implemented in Trier. The aim is to make the Allen Ring, which serves as a green area of the historic city center To strengthen function as the "green lungs" of the city. Around 40 % of the old tree population on the Allen Ring are damaged, the cause of this is climate consequences, such as heat and dryness, but also decades of sealing and traffic -related interventions. The facility runs along the former city walls And combines significant UNESCO World Heritals. Due to the dense development in the city center and the limited possibilities for new green areas, the Allen ring plays a special role in alleviating the heat island. The project aims at a comprehensive design and ecological Upgrading the avenue ring.
