Place of performance:
The A 46 is a traffic axis in a west-east direction, which runs from the Dutch border near Heinsberg to Wuppertal. It carries traffic from the left Lower Rhine and the Wuppertal / Hilden area to the southern part of Duesseldorf as a connection to the A57 motorway on the left bank of the Rhine and the A 59, A 3, A 1 and A 43 motorways on the right bank of the Rhine.
The Services are to be provided for the renewal section AS Neuss-Uedesheim to AS Duesseldorf-Bilk, including the Flehe Rhine bridge. There are several structures in the section under consideration that must be taken into account during planning. In its current state, the highway has 6 lanes. An expansion to 8 lanes is not planned. In particular, the university tunnel east of AS Duesseldorf-Bilk is not changeable.
