The Agricultural Development Project (Programme Developpement de l"Agriculture - PDA) in Burkina Faso aims to contribute to food security and poverty reduction through intensification and improved processing and marketing of agricultural productionThe main aim is to improve the performance of the actors in the rice, cassava and soy value chains - taking into account environmentally friendly, agroecological production practices. The target group of the project are: small farms in primary production and KSMEs in processing and marketing in the rice, cassava and soy value chains; food insecure households. The political partner is the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries (MARAH).
The project follows a value chain approach and implements its measures4 outputs:
(1) Improvement of the framework conditions for sustainable agricultural development of the agricultural sector,
(2) Qualification of actors in the rice, cassava, soya value chains to strengthen the competencies of producers and entrepreneurs and their OrgOrganizations in the funded value chains for environmentally friendly management of their businesses
(3) (Further) development of service offerings along the selected value chains,
