Description:
The programme supports the government of Lao PDR and its respective ministries and departments with its overall objective: "Emissions from land use change and forestry in northern Laos are reduced." The objective of the tender is (1) to evaluate existing studies and interventions targeting agricultural enterprises in Lao PDR resulting in identifying bottlenecks and concrete measures for intervention, (2) to identify potential Agri-MSMEs assessing their business models for future cooperation with the project, (3) to assess the capacity building needs of selected MSMEs developing targeted capacity building measures, (4) to provide capacity building to the MSMEs in close cooperation with national institutions and (5) to ensure the sustainability of all interventions engaging actively in the policy dialogue. Within the context of this assignment, the contractor will support agricultural enterprises through value chain and business model assessments, with the aim of contributing to the adoption of low-emission and climate resilient processing methods, coordinated transportation, marketing of sustainably produced products as well as strong and reliable connections between MSMEs and farmers.
