DEGES Fernstrassen Planning and -bau GmbH plans to implement the sections of the federal highway A 98 (so-called Hochrheinautobahn) on behalf of Autobahn GmbH. The federal highway A98 is a central transport infrastructure project in the administrative districtFreiburg.
With the overall measure of the A 98, a powerful, national west-east connection between A5 and A 81 for the southern parts of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria is to be created and the motorway network of the Federal Republic of Germany in southwestern space. At the same timea link to the Swiss and French (highway) network is created. One of the traffic planning objectives also includes the regional traffic situation by relieving the heavily used federal roads, especially in the densely populated areas on the Hochrheinand to improve in the cities of Bad Sackingen and Waldshut.
The route between the motorway triangle Weil am Rhein (connection A 5) and Lauchringen was divided into a total of 10 sections.
