Description:
The DAAD has its projects and programs regularly evaluated. For its program "Konrad Zuse Schools of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence", financed by the BMBF for the period July/2022 to the end of 2027, the program department "Research and Internationalization, University Networks -P13" of the DAAD is an experienced and competent evaluation institute. The evaluation institute should carry out the accompanying evaluation scheduled for the period 4/2024 to 12/2026 in coordination with the program department.
Taking into account the OECD/DAC evaluation criteria should already be in placed of the implementation of the program, the operational and strategic (implementation) processes as well as the achievement of objectives and (as far as possible) the effects of the projects are examined on the basis of scientific methods of empirical social research. The aim is to gain knowledge on the basis of which StDecisions can be made and, if necessary, optimization suggestions formulated. Particularly against the background of the Federal Government's AI strategy (www.ki-strategie-deutschland.de), perspectives for the future further development of funding are to be shown and the concept is to be examined for its long-term futureCheck the load capacity.
The evaluation also serves to monitor the project progress and success of the program funded by the BMBF (target achievement/impact and economic efficiency control according to No. 11a of the VV to §44 BHO in conjunction with No. 2.2 of the VV to §7 BHO ) and belowthus supports the DAAD's accountability.
Furthermore, the evaluation supports the decision on a possible extension of the funding program beyond 2027.
