Description:
The compensation should be made with high-quality emission reduction credits (CERS) from particularly qualified CDM projects. Although the 2nd Commitment period (2013-2020) of the Kyoto Protocol (CP) decided at the 8th Contracting State Conference (CMP 8) in DOHA 2012, at the end of 31.12.2020. However, since this year's compensation includes exclusively emissions from 2020, to which the CDM rules of the CP still relate, emissions are still balanced with high-quality credits from minor system activities under the CDM up to and including 31.12.2020.

For compensation, the UBA intends to acquire up to 175,021 Cers from registered projects. In addition, the UBA reserves the right to acquire up to another 2,000 Cers for the compensation of the emissions incurred in its own business area as well as up to 30,000 Cers for the compensation of the service travel of the German Bundestag.
