- During the last decades, flowering edge structures of fields and (field) have become rare because of the agricultural landscape in many regions of Thuringia and disappeared. Saumbiotopes such as Feldraine etc. can contribute significantly to biodiversity in the agricultural landscape.
The project "Via Natura 2000" therefore intends to maintain the preservation, restoration and development of structural hem biotopes in intensively agricultural farming regions Thuringia. Thus, a key contribution to the preservation or increase of biodiversity can be provided and consequently to secure and improve ecosystem services such as pollination, pest control, etc. The landscape in agricultural landscapes also experienced a significant appreciation.
Ecological optimization of existing and newly land structures aims in particular to improve the biotope network with the adjacent Natura 2000 areas in Thuringia. In addition, the Hainich National Park, the green ribbon and existing biotope network concepts are to be considered in the development of composite structures.
