The state company Road construction and traffic Schleswig-Holstein, Luebeck site is planning the new construction of the B 5 Lauenburg North bypass on behalf of the federal road construction authority. The project is a sub-project of the planning "B 5 / B 209 Elbe crossing near Lauenburg/Hohnstorf with local bypasses". The northern bypass is Part of all possible crossing variants. Larger terrain bridge structures are planned east of the Buchhorst Mountains and in the area connecting to the B 5 on the Elbe-Luebeck Canal.
