B294, Kirchberg and Schlossberg tunnel BUe tunnel operations technology
The Freiburg Regional Council, Department 4 - Mobility, Traffic and Roads, North Construction Department, Offenburg Office (Department 47.1), is responsible for construction project B 294 Kirchberg and Schlossberg Tunnel, Retrofitting tunnel operating technology, the responsible department. To support the project team, specialist planning for technical equipment (service phases 5f + 8 + 9, construction supervision and documentation) is awarded.
The approximately 1,840 m long Kirchberg tunnel and the approximately 844 m long Schlossberg tunnel are on the B 294 and are part of the Schiltach bypass in the central Black Forest. They were put into operation in 1991 as single-tube two-way traffic tunnels. Both tunnels will run over the existing one on the east side of the Kirchberg tunnel and in a southwesterly direction in front of the south portal Central operational buildings arranged in the Schlossberg tunnel are supplied.
There are six emergency stopping bays arranged opposite each other at equal intervals and designed as turning bays, as well as two emergency exits leading into rescue tunnels.
The Kirchberg tunnel has two lanes and two emergency sidewalks (RQ 11t). The tunnel rises almost constantly from the west to the east portal at 1.3%, before the longitudinal gradient drops to 2.5% in the last 70 m to the east portal.
