Demolition and replacement building of the sports hall at the integrated
comprehensive school Mannheim -Hergenried
The sports hall and the free sports areas of the IGMH were built in connection with the new building of the school in 1973.The sports hall consists of a divided three -field hall and a single -field hall next to it. The two -storey changing area lies along the
halls. This is accessed by the higher level of schoolyard on the 1st top floor. The halls on the ground floor are
on the back of the levelWith part of the free sports areas. Due to the building age of the sports hall, the low building entertainment since the construction, numerous defects of the construction construction, building services, the accident and fire protection as well as a lack of accessibility, there was an urgent need for renovation. Further was inRoof structure determined the risk of so -called
voltage crack corrosion. This can lead to component failure. For these reasons, the city of Mannheim decided to build a new replacement building.
The new replacement building is built at the location of the old hall. The property
