Description:
The former Tegel Airport is making room for Berlin. A research and industrial park for urban technologies: Berlin TXL - Urban Tech Republic and a new residential district: the Schumacher Quartier are being built on the 500 hectare area. With the development and management of the Urban Tech Republicand the Schumacher Quarter, the state of Berlin commissioned Tegel Projekt GmbH. The employees of the state-owned company deal with, among other things: with the planning for the building construction and the technical, energy and traffic infrastructure, the construction and location managementement as well as with the area marketing and communication of the project to the public.
The elevated road to access Terminal B, component C1 or loop, will in the future only serve as access for fire brigade emergency vehicles and to special events for bus traffic.
