Description: The Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW (BLB NRW) plans to build a replacement building for the laboratory building of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry (IAC) and Organic Chemistry (IOC) at RWTH Aachen University as part of the university consolidation program. The planned new building is to be built in Aachen's Hörn campus area between the RWTH core area in the city center and the Melaten campus in the north-west of the city and replace the previous institute building on Melatener Strasse.
The building to be constructed is characterized by a high level of technology. Furthermore, it should combine a high level of user satisfaction as well as high architectural demands to establish identity and motivate employees and students. The architectural design should be based on the surrounding existing buildings and lead to a uniform overall picture.
