- In order to support the German universities in the process of internationalization, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University Rectors' Conference (HRK), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AVH) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) have built up the "HSI Monitor" data portal in 2018. The starting point was the profile data project, in the framework of which has been collected data on the internationality of universities since 2011 and evaluated annually as a total report and in individual dossiers for the individual universities. The BMBF-financed follow-up project "HSI monitor-profile data on university international" ensures the continued operation of the online portal HSI monitor by the end of 2027 and enables further expansion to a central information, monitoring and strategy tool to support the internationalization efforts of the German universities.
