The Fitko was founded on January 1, 2020 as a legal institution of public law (Aoer) in the joint sponsorship of the federal government and the federal states in Frankfurt am Main. As a small and agile organization, Fitko forms the operational substructure of the IT planning council and supports it Organizationally and professionally and in the performance of his tasks. Fitko is supposed to bundle the federal activities to digitize the administration, coordinate and controlling the projects and products of the IT planning council, the implementation of the online access law (OZG) Coordinate and further develop the federal IT architecture. The German Administrative Service Directory (DVDV) is an infrastructure component for the safe and reliable addressing of official services. In this directory service, technical connection data from online services can the public administration is stored that are required to address and use. Interesting information and users of the DVDV are primarily specialist procedures and online services, not human users. In the context of the DVDV, a specialist procedure is (part of a) computer program, the business processes within the public administration.
