- The Heinz Maier-Leibnitz research neutron source (also research reactor Munich II, FRM II for short) in Garching near Munich is a central scientific facility (ZWE FRM II) of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The Munich II research reactor is one of the most powerful and moserious neutron sources worldwide and is used for a variety of different scientific and technical investigations. The FRM II is one of the swimming pool reactors.
