• City of Herne: EU-wide award procedure for “geological investigation and consulting services” The city of Herne is pursuing the project idea of establishing the Blumenthal hoch3 research and commercial location on the site of the former General Blumenthal XI mine develop. The former "General Blumenthal XI" mining area has been derelict since 2001 and is the largest at around 23.5 hectares The area reserve of the city of Herne. The area, which belongs to the Eickel district, is in the immediate vicinity of the main train station Herne-Wanne-Eickel and about 1.5 km as the crow flies from Wanner city center. The almost one kilometer wide track system around the Herne-Wanne-Eickel main station represents a significant barrier to the connection to the planned Blumenthal development area hoch3 to the main train station and Wann's city center. However, due to its central location, the area has great potential for Hern's urban development and has therefore already been a counterpart to urban development project sketches in the past. From this is the vision of "Blumenthal hoch3" - a modern, integrated high- and green-tech district with a wide range of knowledge-, technology-oriented and higher-quality services, a high proportion of greenery and a cable car connection to the Herne-Wanne-Eickel main station was built.
