• The city of Regensburg is planning Smart Cities model projects from the Federal Ministry of Housing as part of the funding program. Urban Development and Construction (BMWSB) the implementation of the use case “Sensory data collection, data transmission and Data evaluation of mobility flows in the old town area. The city as a complex system is constantly changing and is faced with the challenge of digitally recording and evaluating the effects of changes for important and distinctive sub-areas. in order to provide a reliable decision-making basis for urban development. An important aspect is the systematic analysis of movement data, particularly of visitors in the old town. As part of the funding project REGENSBURG_NEXT, the city of Regensburg is therefore planning to collect, process and visualize mobility flows in the old town area. The aim is to answer the following questions: ? What are the mobility flows within the city? ? How do they work? structural and/or infrastructural changes? ? What effect do events or environmental factors have, for example? For this purpose, sensors should be installed at suitable and representative locations that provide temporal and spatial movement data recorded. The measured data should be made available via a standardized interface to enable further processing of the data via the geodata infrastructure/IoT platform and urban data platform of the city of Regensburg. Through the Sensor-based frequency measurement should provide meaningful data permanently (365 days a year, 24/7) - for retail, location assessment, real estate valuation, city planning, city marketing and traffic planning.
