• The non-profit Ros Foundation is the owner of the last single house in Hamburg, a listed residential building for men living alone that is over 110 years old and a cultural venue in the district. Since its founding, the foundation has been committed to preserving the Ledigenhaus as a living monument to Hamburg's cultural, social and port history. In addition to protecting monuments and local heritage, the foundation's work includes, among other things, supporting people in need and senior citizens as well as promoting cultural activities life. The single house is now to be comprehensively renovated in accordance with monument and heritage law as a place of culture and integration in the district. For this purpose, the existing post-war gable roof should be demolished and replaced on the street side in its original form as a mansard roof be restored. All interior spaces are to be renovated and modernized in accordance with listed buildings. The building's TGA will be renewed and the building will be equipped with an elevator for the seniors in the house. To improve security an external staircase was also built in the inner courtyard. Since the renovation must be carried out while the property is inhabited and used, the renovation work will have to be carried out in sections. Residents and users in the house will move during the construction phase necessary. The best possible preservation of the residents' quality of life during the construction phase must be ensured.
