Description:
The chair for design theory and CAD at the University of Bayreuth intends to procure a combined PVD-PACVD coating system.
A coating system suitable for research purposes is to be procured, which uses physical vapor deposition (PVD,physical vapor deposition) and plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD, plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition).
With these methods it is possible to attach a large number of materials to substrates using physical and/or plasma-activated chemical processesto be deposited as a thin layer (up to a few micrometers thick). Test specimens and technical components of device, machine, apparatus and vehicle construction up to medium dimensions serve as substrates. For the planned research projects, cathode sputtering (Sputtern) required.
The system to be procured is to be designed by the manufacturer for the process technologies and areas of application mentioned and must be state-of-the-art. For the planned research projects, tribologically effective layers (friction and miscwear reduction), biocompatible layers and layers that allow the integration of additional functions in surfaces, such as condition monitoring, measurement or energy harvesting. They are used, for example, in drive technology, energy technology and medical technology.
