Description:
Compressed gas accelerator (gas cannon), PR1171265 (OV) As part of the open procedure, a compressed gas accelerator (gas cannon) is put out to tender. A test facility is required to carry out highly dynamic (ballistic) impact tests. These tests are for Investigation of the behavior of ceramic materials when bombarded with projectile-like small-caliber indenters in accordance with national and international ballistic testing standards such as VPAM and STANAG. The test facility exists in itself self-contained system consisting of a compressed gas accelerator (gas cannon), launch tube and an impact chamber for operation in a normal laboratory environment. Depending on the speed of the impact body to be achieved, this gas cannon works, among other things: with compressed air or helium. These gases serve as propellants to accelerate the projectile.
