With the progressive climate change, extreme weather events, such as heavy rain or long -lasting dry periods, will increase in intensity and frequency. In order to always have a safe, quantitative and qualitative requirements in such exceptional situationsThe water suppliers must adapt to the changed framework conditions. In particular by the flood disaster of July 14/15, 2021 in the Ahr Valley, the urgent need to increase the security of supply for water supply was illustrated. The municipal utilitySinzig, the waterworks of the city of Bad-Neuenahr and the water supply association Maifeld-Eifel intend to establish a common elevated tank as a supra-regional spare water supply. For the Stadtwerke Sinzig, it also serves as a regular supply for the districtsLoehndorf and Bodendorf. The connection of the new elevated tank to the supply area of the Stadtwerke Sinzig takes place via 2 lines (loading high container via pumping line from westum, removal towards Loehndorf via separate fall line, use of pumplait westum - Loehndorf as pendant line inReplacement waterfall). The connection to the supply areas of the city of Bad Neuenahr and the WVZ Maifeld-Eifel takes place via a single pendant line.
