Description:
The sewage sludge cooperation Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (KKMV), consisting of 17 members under public law, has decided on a sewage sludge disposal strategy that involves phasing out agricultural recycling and external co-incineration and switching to 100%thermal recycling.
For this purpose, a sewage sludge recycling plant (KVA) is to be built in the immediate vicinity of the Rostock Bramow sewage treatment plant (central sewage treatment plant, ZKA), in which part of the sewage sludge from the cooperation is burned.
Originally, the construction of a sewage sludgeSludge utilization plant planned for an annual throughput of 100,000 Mg OS/a at 8,000 operating hours/a (at an average of 22.7% DS with 63.9% loss on ignition). A complete design plan is available for this size of plant. The necessary immission control approvalAn application has already been made to the State Office for Agriculture and the Environment in Middle Mecklenburg for construction and the draft will be approved in January 2023. Due to the developments in the construction sector and the increased prices, the KKMV has meanwhile decided to increase the planned plant capacitycapacity to 50,000 Mg OS/a at 8,000 operating hours/a (at an average of 22.3% TS at 66.3% ignition loss).
The incineration plant should be able to be operated largely automatically and have an availability of 8,000 h/a.
The incineration plant will be used as an energy producer and consumer in the future...
