- Construction and operation of a groundwater purification plant Construction and operation of a groundwater purification plant The location of the former Niederau regional warehouse is intolerable due to approximately 140 years of previous industrial use Groundwater damage occurred. Due to the above-mentioned circumstances, there is a need for hazard prevention measures in accordance with soil protection and water law requirements. The renovation is being carried out as part of the Free State's contaminated site exemption program Saxony on the basis of a restructuring order from the Meißen district. In the first renovation phase, hydraulic relief has been achieved in the area of potential sources of entry since June 2019 using pump and treat. There were a total of eight Wells with a filter have been installed in the area of the Cretaceous aquifer, of which seven are currently in operation. The groundwater resulting from hydraulic renovation is cleaned using a groundwater purification system (GWRA). Due to the age of the existing system and the intended continuation of the hydraulic renovation, a new GWRA that ensures reliable operation over a period of at least 7 years should be planned and constructed. An extension of the renovation operation by up to a further 3 years is optionally possible.
