- Prequalifications are invited for Consulting Services, Solar Home System Financing Access to reliable and safe energy is understood to be a prerequisite for sustainable development. Financing solutions for upfront cost that make the purchase of Solar Home Systems (SHS) possible for many households in rural and also peri-urban areas in Pakistan is required. This financing provided through Micro Financing Institutes (MFIs) or Micro Finance Partners (MFPs) can enable a much larger customer base for SHS to purchase such systems. PMIC has established a program for the support of financing of SHS through MFIs/MFPs that aims to increase access to energy for households in poor grid mostly peri-urban areas and off-grid locations in the rural areas of Pakistan - by enabling a sound supply of quality solar products from private solar supply companies, and by triggering demand from households for solar products and solar financing (PRIME). In this context, KfW on behalf of the German Government is planning to provide funds comprising an investment component plus Accompanying Measures to the “Access to Financial Services (PMIC Solar)” Project. The main objective of the Project is supporting the financing of SHS through MFIs/MFPs and to increase access to energy for households in poor grid mostly peri-urban areas and off-grid locations in the rural areas of Pakistan. The Services requested under this assignment are to assist PMIC and MIFIs/MFPs in (1) Market and Technical Knowledge Building, Data Collection and Reporting; (2) Improving loan processes at PMIC and MFIs / MFPs; (3) improving/securing Quality Standards; (4) Demand Raising; (5) Grant Disbursements from KfW to PMIC.
