• Description:
• The aim of the conversion is to use batteries to propel the ship and to completely eliminate the use of diesel fuel as propulsion energy. The aim of the batteries is to store enough energy on board to ensure propulsion energy. As Batteries are used lithium-ion batteries or lithium iron phosphate batteries. For this purpose, the diesel drive motor is replaced by a 100 kW electric drive motor. The shaft system is adjusted accordingly and the rudder system is retained. The electric drive motor is powered from a DC intermediate circuit. The supply of drive energy is guaranteed by the battery capacity. The drive batteries are connected to a DC intermediate circuit via a DC/DC converter and with a Battery management system constantly monitored. With the shore connection, the traction batteries are charged via the DC intermediate circuit. The ship must be converted accordingly for electric propulsion. The batteries must be in the ship's hull in separate rooms adapted to current regulations. Additional space must be provided for the energy management system and associated control cabinets, converters, transformers, etc. The necessary ones Shore connection boxes for supplying the ship with energy must be adapted. The ship is used for various purposes (day trips, charter trips and events). The battery capacity must be designed so that the ship can use one 3 times a day 1.5 hour round trip and an additional 2 hour evening trip as a charter trip with an average speed of 10 km/h.
