• Description:
• The city of Eisenach intends to build a new sports and event hall within the construction volume of an empty factory building on the site of the former Eisenach automobile plant (AWE). The planned new building requires a large-scale dismantling of the existing structure the existing building to be preserved (axes A - B). The existing building to be dismantled (axes B - L) is a three-story system building with a full basement in steel frame construction from the 1930s, which is partly made up of reinforced concrete components, particularly in the basement was added. The supporting structure consists of columns, main and secondary beams as well as ceilings with predominantly hollow bricks (steel block ceilings) and partly reinforced concrete ceilings. The axis grid is 7.00 m in the letter axes A - L and 5.50 m in the number axes 1 - 17. In the central longitudinal axes E - G there is a reduced axis dimension of 6.63 m x 5.50 m. The main dimensions of the building are approx. 88.30 m x 69.50 m with a building height of around 13.50 m (eaves) to a maximum of approx. 18.00 m (roof structures). The building is already largely free of interior walls; are only preserved the elevator technology as well as two internal staircases that extend over the roof.
