  • Description:
  • The main goal of the overall project is to develop a novel, modular avionics system platform for next-generation aircraft. Specifically, concepts for the physical layer and the multiple access layer of a WAIC radio network (Wireless Avionics Intracommunications) are developed and examined using simulations. In a further step, these concepts will be implemented in hardware and integrated into the overall system (wired avionics network) in order to enable experimental validation.
    A subcontract will be awarded, which will consist ofprimarily relates to the hardware implementation and system integration of the radio modem.
    The subcontractor (UAN) has the task of implementing selected concepts for the radio modem on the physical layer (PHY) and the multiple access layer (MAC) in hardware as well as in the integrationation of the radio modem into the overall system (avionics platform). The concepts (e.g. algorithms) are provided by the TUHH. The Software Defined Radio (SDR) module vProtean from Vanteon (https://vanteon.com/vp.) was already used within the project as the hardware platform for the modemrotan/) set. The SDR modules are provided to the UAN on loan by the TUHH.
