For this purpose, a flexible atomic layer etching system with plasma support (ALE) is planned for the atomic layer-precise ablation of thin films made of metals, metal oxides, metal nitrides and optionally sulfides for applications as tunnel barriers or electrodes in memristive and cryoelectronic components, as ferroelectrics and as 2D - to procure materials as well as for the scientific investigation of the removal mechanisms and for process development.
