Description:
At the Hohen Wangelin location, the State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fishing M-V is operating a pilot plant for the development of commercial pikeperch production. The aim of the project is to set up a commercial pikeperch culture in location-independent rearing systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. An essential environmental parameter for the successful rearing of Zander is the content of solids in production water. For this reason, the use of mechanical cleaning in intensive rearing systems with regard to well -being, fish health and performance characteristics is imperative. The use of drum sieve filters is an effective way of removing solid water from the circular water. These are integrated into the circulation so that either the entire volume flow or at least part of it is guided through the filter. In addition to the funding volume of the circulatory pumps, the mesh size of the gauze used on the drum plays the most important role in relation to the performance characteristic of the filter.
