At the Hohen Wangelin site, the MV State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries operates a pilot plant to develop commercial zander production. The aim of the project is to establish commercial zander aquaculture in location-independent rearing systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. An essential component for the successful cultivation of pike-perch replacement fish is sorting the fish by size, otherwise the cannibalism of the fish can lead to a total loss. As part of the project, the sorting of the fish is to be automatedOn the one hand, it should be carried out as stress-free as possible (fish remain constantly in the water), and on the other hand, the time required for sorting should be significantly reduced. For this reason, an innovative solution for transporting fish within the facility is needed. A product lawresearch showed that the PESCAMOTION 2.5 impeller fish pump from the French FAIVRE Group is the most suitable unit and optimally meets the requirements.
