At the Finger Institute for Building Materials Science at the Bauhaus University Weimar, new types of binders and building materials as well as mechanisms of aging and corrosion are being researched. The spectrum of basic and applied research extends from inorganic systems such as cement and concrete to new types of plastics and additives based on renewable raw materials. The Bauhaus University Weimar is planning to expand the institute's service portfolio and the quality of teaching The initial equipment of the laboratory building included the purchase of a high-temperature sintering furnace, a chamber furnace and the purchase of 4 muffle furnaces.
