- The University of the Bundeswehr Munich (Unibw M) was founded in 1973 at the end of the then Federal Minister of Defense, Helmut Schmidt, under the name "University of the Bundeswehr Munich". She is one of two universities that the Bundeswehr to train its officer candidates and has young officers. The university belongs to the civilian organizational sector and is assigned to the Federal Ministry of Defense. The Unibw M founded a new "Center for Digitization and Technology Research by the Bundeswehr" (DTEC.BW) on August 11, 2020. dtec.bw is Part of the Federal Government's economic stimulus program to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and is equipped with research funds from the economic stimulus program via the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVG). With the inclusion in the German structure and resilience plan (DARP), Dtec.bw of of the European Union - Nextgenerationu financed. The research project "Seamless Radio Access Networks for Internet of Space" (Seranis) has been approved by the BMVG and is now to be realized. An experimental satellite in the Leo is to be created as part of Seranis. The Seranis project is through dtec.bw funded. In Seranis, three complex and coordinated laboratory environments for research on future -oriented communication networks and technologies are built between space and soil.
