- Description:
- The noise barrier (LSW), which runs parallel to the airport ring in the northwest of Frankfurt Airport, is to be installed between gates 27and essentially consists of reinforced concrete slabs lying one on top of the other, which are held in place by a supporting structure (also made of reinforced concrete). Based on the experience with the partial demolitions carried out so far, the slabs should be excavated and the supporting structures (trusses) must be attachedfinally be canceled. The excavated panels, sealing materials and the material resulting from the demolition of the supporting structure become the property of the contractor and must be disposed of or recycled accordingly.
Demolition of the noise barrier including disposalof the demolition material
Depending on the space available for carrying out the work, the slabs are lifted using a mobile crane, which can usually be set up in the operating area, or using a crawler crane, which travels in the axis of the wall and lifts the slabs in front of the headt. The demolition of the foundations of the noise barrier is not part of this award procedure and will take place at a later date.
