Description:
The exhibition "Light and Matter" is the thematic and chronological continuation of the exhibition "Classic Optics". This exhibition is developed in cooperation with the Excellence Cluster "Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology" (MCQST). While the spread of light in rays and waves is in the foreground in the exhibition "Classic Optics", microscopic models of light, which were developed in the course of the 20th century, are to be presented here. At the center of the exhibition is the question "What is light?". The concept of “light and matter” illustrates that you can only learn something about the nature of light when you look at how light and matter affect each other, for example in lentils, on colored surfaces, or on sensors. The focus is on laser physics, nuclear and molecular spectroscopy and modern quantum look.
