Description:
The Trier (VRT) transport network, together with cross-border partners from Luxembourg, received a positive funding notice on the development concept Oberes Moselltal (EOM) as part of the Interreg program 2021-27. A project included is the introduction of on Demand reverses in the German-Luxemburg border region. The overall goal is to improve cross -border traffic infrastructure and to promote sustainable mobility solutions. This should be done by closer networking of the existing bus and rail connections as well as through the introduction Need -controlled supplementary offers can be achieved. The expected change consists in a reduction in motorized private transport while increased use of public transport. This reduces traffic jams, the environmental pollution is reduced and the quality of life is reduced the resident improved on both sides of the border. For this purpose, as part of the project, an on-demand software for planning, information, booking (order and handling management), disposition / mediation and bundling of on-demand reversals in the district of Trier-Saarburg and adjacent parts created by Luxembourg and connected to the electronic timetable information system EFA for passenger access.
