Description:
Development and manufacture of two fast semiconductor gap switches based on silicon carbide technology (SIC), their area of application is the short-circuit of high-frequency cavities in the synchrotron and storage rings at GSI and fair for impedance reduction with high Intensities
The proposed schedule is finalized in joint coordination.
Each switch should be composed of two separate SIC module units (one each Module stacks for every half of the gap of cavity) and its own control and power supply unit. The SIC module units will be used in the accelerator tunnel as part of the gap periphery of high frequency cavities. You need high tensions, high currents and high radiation exposure can endure. The switches will be used in continuous operation in the accelerator systems during the beam period. Since these accelerator systems require a high availability of all technical systems, high demands on the long -term stability of the switches and to the Quality of the components used, including state-of-the-art solutions for power supply, mechanical integration, high-frequency properties, electrical security, cooling and thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility
