Description:
The digital knot Stuttgart (DKS) is a pilot project in the starter package of the digital rail Germany (DSD). The aim of the DSD program is the modernization of leading and security technology (LST) throughout Germany. The DKS comprises the equipment of the network districts Stuttgart and Plochingen with around 500 kilometers of route. For the first time in Germany, a large railway node is equipped with digital signal boxes (DStW) and the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2. This lays the basis for gradual introduction of other systems such as high -automated driving? Automatic Train Operation 2? (ATO GOA 2), the future railway mobile phone system? Future Railway Mobile Communication System? (FRMCS) and the capacity and traffic management system? Capacity & Traffic Management System? (CTMS). The DKS project is divided into three spatial-functional building blocks, whereby only the component 3 is content of this award procedure. Building block 1: Equipment of the S-Bahn line and adjacent areas with ETCS L2 without signals (L2OS) and ATO GoA 2, including vehicle equipment.
