Description:
The RVM's analogue train radio system is to be replaced by a communication solution for railway communication applications with a term of 10 years.
Digital train radio system at the RVM
The central MCx application must adhere to the 3GPP MCx architecture of future communication networks in the railway environment (FRMCS) and must therefore be based on SIP/IP communication between end devices, server systems and applications. This is intended to create a robust but at the same time adaptable system, which enables flexible and modular further development for new, innovative services and ensures long-term conformity to international standards. Furthermore, with regard to FRMCS, the MCx system is required to coexist and interwork with the GSM-R system of DB InfraGo, which enables cross-network communication via standardized interfaces enabled.
In addition to the standard-based push-to-talk solution, the required railway-specific functions such as role- and function-based calls, emergency calls with associated prioritization and displacement functions as well as additional services and call control are to be provided.
The RVM intends to use a smartphone for the communication requirements of mobile participants that meets industry requirements and is equipped with an installed MCx application.
