- Since it went into operation in 2024, the Dinslaken Wood Energy Center (DHE) has produced up to 380 GWh of heat annually for the FVN in a sustainable and almost CO2-neutral manner. The DHE consists of two identical, parallel boiler lines with a maximum thermal output of 99 MWth (49.5 MWth each). Extra light fuel oil is used as fuel for ignition and backup firing; the primary fuel consists exclusively of natural wood and waste wood in categories A I to A III, in accordance with the Waste Wood Ordinance. Other fuels are not permitted. The fuel is not processed at the plant location. In the approximately 7,500 operating hours that are achieved per year, electricity and heat are generated from around 200,000 tons of waste wood. To protect the environment, the DHE is equipped with four-stage flue gas cleaning. This Four stages are designed to keep pollutant emissions well below the approved limits. As part of thermal recycling, residues remain from the; 1. bottom ash, 2. fly ash, 3. filter ash as a solid, and are subjected to a detailed analysis. For Over the next two years, the disposal of residual materials will be awarded within this tendering process. When the waste wood mixture is burned, there are essentially three waste materials that need to be disposed of, namely the bottom ash, the boiler ash and the Waste from flue gas cleaning. When disposing of the ashes and waste from flue gas cleaning, their pollutant potential, in particular their physical and chemical properties, must be determined through appropriate analyses. The analyzes are for the total soluble fraction and the Heavy metals in the soluble and insoluble part.
