Stadtwerke Duesseldorf AG (SWD) is planning to expand the district heating security capacity of the current 3 x 60 MWth at the Lausward power plant site (KWL) by a further 2 x 20 MWth. The backup boilers are intended to be used in addition to peak load coverage and are required without additional installationof district heating pumps are integrated into the existing district heating network. 2 x 20 MWth are planned in the form of bivalently fired (natural gas and heating oil) flame tube boilers. The installation takes place in the existing boiler house of the Lausward thermal power plant. Furthermore, Stadtwerke Duesseldorf AG (SWD) is planningat the Flingern power plant site (KWF) to expand the district heating security performance from the current 2 x 50 MWth by 2 x 20 MWth. The backup boilers are to be used in addition to peak load coverage and will be integrated into the existing district heating network by installing 2 district heat pumpsnd. 2 x 20 MWth are planned in the form of bivalently fired (natural gas and heating oil) flame tube boilers. The new boilers will be installed on an available open space in front of the existing boiler house within the Flingern thermal power plant.
